The Rules: read them, abide by them, or be banned.
1. No foul language or anything with too much sexual innuendo (there may be little ears here!).
2. No playing someone else’s character! If you’re involved in a storyline and you talk to them about it first, then you may play them as you agreed, but you cannot go around pretending to be other people/ponies.
3. No killing anyone else’s character. How would you like it if I decided to kill your favorite character? That’s what I thought.
4. No off topic discussions. A few random OT (off topic) or OOC (out of character) if you think of something while typing is fine, but I don’t want long conversations going on where role playing should be. There is an OOC board for this stuff.
5. If your character is in one place or another in Ponyville, they have to leave that place BEFORE they can start playing somewhere else. If however, you have said that your character left a place, then someone said something to them and you need to answer them, go back and do it quickly, or tell them to go find you where you are now. Telling other players where you are going in your last post also helps them to find you if they need you.
6. Remember, Ponyville is just like our world; they have the same technologies and mindsets. Dream Valley has the technology of the 1950s. Course has the technology of roughly the Renaissance (they are a little behind).
7. No powerplays. I want to make sure that NO ONE (including myself) uses powerplays to get in control. If your up against someone (or many someone's) who are more powerful than your character than deal with it... live and learn and take some fighting classes.
8. Just want to emphasize the "you can only be in one place at one time" rule. You have no idea much this bugs me... and if you break it I will have your character's butt!
9. Read your post before you post it! Read it outloud! If it sounds funny (grammar-wise), or you forgot to explain something that no one else is going to understand... re-write it! This will advert much confusion in the game and will help everyone to play nice. If I can't understand your post I will simply ignore it until I can.
10. Post content is a must! Dont just answer someone's question, build your character up a bit... what are they thinking? what aren't they telling? Did they remember something or is their body language changing? Let us know! Please try to stay away from one line posts or we will have to make a rule for a minimum number of lines in each post.
11. Don't Interupt! If you were talking to someone in real life and I just interupted with some stupid unrelated comment you would be pretty peeved no? Well same goes here! If it's important and you must tell them you may interupt... but if your just listening in and suddenly get an idea and blurt it out that's just plain rude.
12. Please include storyline notes in your posts. If your post starts somewhere else, or even in another post on the same board, make note of it at the beginning by surrounding it with parentheses. It will help players who did not see your original post keep up with the storyline. Also, please include the time/day (in Ponyland time, not Real time) somewhere in the first post so that people know when things are happening.
13. If you have read the rules you will write the words Dark Rainbow at the top of your first joining bio. This way we know you have actually read the rules.
14. Last but not least: Have fun, Play hard, and email me if you have any problems or questions.
