The current storyline, Of PAARS and Pirates, was a multi-board experiance... until we smushed all the boards into one. So now that we've merged most of the boards that were dealing with this storyline, we are going to give you a clearer picture of what is going on.
The storyline is actually split into two distinct storylines. One section being PAARS, and the other being Pirates. The next two posts will explain each one in detail, so please, read on.

Of PAARS:
So, the board is covered in something called PAARS... but what the heck is PAARS anyway?
PAARS stands for Pony Ailment Assortment of Retroviral Symptoms. In short, its a virus that an evil, upset, God- pony created from the Smooze. When a pony first encounters this virus, it usually shows symptoms similar to a small cold or allergies. After a week or so the symptoms are only getting worse, sending them to their beds. In two weeks they start to swell up and turn purple (unless of course they started out purple). By week 3 they are dead. Ponies with comprimised immune systems will get sick faster, but any pony who has encountered the smooze before (like Rose, who was smoozed when she was a kid) will have a certain amount of immunity to it. Nearly all ponies are suseptable to PAARS, and even those who don't feel sick can carry it to another pony and make them sick.
So no matter what, if you have entered a PAARS thread or board infected with PAARS, you must write PAARS in the subject of any other threads you go to. You are officially infected, even if you don't feel sick.

Of Pirates:
There are two groups of pirates: the "good" pirates, and the "bad" pirates. The only distinction between the two is that the "good" pirates are helping the Champions, while the "bad" pirates are certainly not.
The "bad" pirates have stolen Dream Valley's most valuable item: the Rainbow of Light's locket. With the RoL trapped inside, it cannot come to the aid of Ponyland if it's in the wrong hoofs. And right now it's in the hoofs of Ratskull, a slightly mad pirate captain who has dreams of power and riches.
The Champions have chartered the "good" pirates boat to follow after Ratskull's crew, to get the locket back at any cost. They've already run into a bit of a setback, however, and another is coming in the form of a storm. Also on their travels, the Champions are spreading PAARS. How fun, yes?

Of the ending:
As with all RPs, the fun part is not knowing exactally what is going to happen. However, there are a few things that will happen to keep the dirrection of the storyline going on a basic track.
The Champions will follow the pirates to Course, where the Queen will be torn between her promise of safe harbor to Ratskull, her debt to Kail, and her trade agreements with Dream Valley. Meanwhile, as PAARS takes more ponies to the grave, the Dream Valley watcher will alert Xanadia to the plight of the ponies on the other side of the world.
How will it end? Well, even I don't know that! That will depend on what your characters do to help or hinder the Champions and Xanadians.
