Name: Bella Hoofspen Age: 43 Type: Pegasus Gender: Female Physical Description: Sea green with purple mane and tail. Silver streak in mane and silver dolphin symbol on both sides. Lavendar eyes.
Powers: Slight healing power when using the "dolphins song", also has the ability to talk to any ocean/sea creature (including birds like pelicans and seagulls). Has much more recently picked up the ability to see the present in dreams - things that are happening elsewhere will suddenly come to her either in dream or in a dream-like state while awake. It usually only happens when something bad is happening to those close to her.
Personality: Bella is a very matronly pony, fiercely protective of her family and friends, but also quite friendly to anyone who doesn't pose a threat. She loves to sing, and has the confidence to do it whenever she chooses, whether or not there are strangers around. She worries overly-much for her daughter, Kailani.
History: Born on a coastal village in the upper continent of Ponyland, Bella (then known as Pone) grew up as any young little pony. She loved to play at the beach and race her cousin Ocean Pearl to see who could swim out the farthest - until she swam out too far one day and was caught in the current, sweeping her for an unknown period of time south to the shores of Course.
Bella lived in Course for six years with the Wheaton family, and while there met her love Canto Hoofspen. Healing in Course from her many wounds the sea gave to her, she finally decided to go back home on a large cargo ship. The ship was caught in a storm, and Pone was swept over the edge, hitting her head hard enough on the way down to give her amnesia.
Pone awoke on a deserted island in the middle of the sea, and dubbed DelphinBella by the dolphin pod that had rescued her. Another couple years were spent healing a broken wing (twice!) on the island before she was finally able to fly north to Dream Valley.
While in Dream Valley, Bella remembered her past and found Canto searching for her. They went back to Course, but when she heard of the war she rushed back, only to miss the whole battle and witness the forming of the Guardian Stars.
Bella stayed in Dream Valley for a while, finally using her newest power inadvertantly to call Canto to move to Dream Valley. He joined her and they were married, visiting Course from time to time. She became head of the Garden neighborhood years ago, and has become a prominant figure in the Dream Valley community.
After a short trip to Course to help the Queen Luna and her daughter, Bella returned to Dream Valley to live the rest of her life in *hopeful* peace and quiet. Her daughter Kailani moved to Ponyville, and has been keeping her mother up plenty of nights with worry, and with the recent theft of the locket and news of the plague coming from Ponyville, Bella went to the Nursery there to help Karma keep the children as healthy as possible. It seems she's arrived too late.

Character's Name: Canto Hoofspen Type: Unicorn Gender: Male Age: 45 Physical Description: Dark blue (like the color of the sky just after sunset) body with light blue mane and tail. White streak in mane and a white quill symbol on both sides. Light blue eyes.
Powers: Write really really well? Its not really a power. Can wink, being a unicorn.
Personality: Canto is much more quiet and introverted than his wife Bella - he's more of a "behind the scenes" guy, letting her do all the glorious events while choosing instead to write them down to be forever remembered.
History: Canto was born in the city of Course to the Hoofspens, the royal scribe family. By the age of ten he had written the "History of Course" and various other works, and was closely following in his fathers, and grandfathers, hoofprints. That was, until he met Pone.
Falling in love with her almost at first sight, Canto eventually followed her to Dream Valley, leaving his family and his future behind in Course for a new one. He has stayed away from most of the drama and action that his wife and daughter seem to draw like a magnet, and loves to write their stories, so they will be forever remembered by Ponyland.

Character's Name: Orrah Type: unicorn Gender: female Age: 30ish Physical Description: deep rich purple body, with three shades of purple hair (think Cherry Blossom but purpler rather than pinker). Light purple eyes, and a silver good thoughts/good decisions symbol, like the one below: Powers: astral projection - she can project an image of her body to other ponies/places to give messages, making her an excellent pony for sending out to watch things Personality: quiet and watchful, and a very bad liar if I do say so myself. She takes her time before making decisions and speaking, so she never says or does anything remarkably stupid (unless she tries to lie, because she's a very bad liar). History: Orrah was born in Xanadia and taught like all other good Xanadian children that the outside world was a horrible place full of monsters and murderers. She was taught the old use of magick passed down from her mother and grandmother, and found herself especially adept at astral projection, a feat most are either too scared to try or are no good at. It takes a crazy amount of preparation and concentration, but she excells in it, making her the perfect pony to send out for spying aside from the fact that she is a horrible liar, and thus a horrible spy. Still, when she uses her eyes rather than her mouth she can be of some use (so lucky for the Guardians of Xanadia she doesn't talk much). With the return of the old Gods during the summer, Xanadia was quite interested to find what the rest of Ponyland made of the Gods and their magicks. Sending a pony to watch and report back seemed a good plan, and so they made the logical choice of sending Orrah. She could watch, blend in, keep quiet, report back using her projection, and most importantly of all she could keep tightlipped on the presence of Xanadia because she herself didn't want these other ponies to find out about it. And so, despite her many protests, they packed her bags and sent her on her merry way, along with a messenger bird just in case her projection wouldn't work that far (afterall, who has ever tried it from one world to the other? They use scrying pools and the like to communicate with Fatum). Orrah, not very happy with the current events, went straight to Ponyville first, having the knowledge that this was where the greatest number of gods had conveened. What she found was a land torn apart by the dark Gods, limping to try to save itself and turning wholeheartedly to the Rainbow that had done the same thing the year before. A new chapel to the Great Rainbow had just been errected, and everywhere she went ponies were scarred by the devastation of the old Gods. She was quite convinced enough that the rest of the world wasn't ready for Xanadia, and was ready to turn back when the Guardians told her to continue on to Dream Valley, the mecca of Ponyland civilization. Not expecting to see any difference, she grudgingly continued. Orrah has reached the Valley of Dreams after a full day's walk from Ponyville. So far the only difference she has seen is the much quieter demeanor of the towns older residents. Not enough to convince her yet. Although it would be hard to convince the purple pony to stay in this land of green. Birthplace/Current Residence: Xanadia, Dream Valley Orrah's Bird: name: Wine type: falcon color: the color of a nice dark red wine. Wine was given to Orrah for her trip, in case she couldn't project herself all the way back to Xanadia and needed to send a message to them by air. She found that she can however project herself that far, and so Wine has turned into more of a good pet than a working bird.

Character's Name: Karma Type: earth Gender: female Age: 30(ish? I cant do the math for some reason) Physical Description: a blackish-silver all over, no symbol, and hair the same. She has a visible blue aura when in the company of friends and a visible red aura in the company of foe.
Powers: She can see and manipulate auras. Her vision is all a swirl of colors as every living thing has an aura and she can see those rather than the actual form beneath the aura.
As for manipulation, she can change the colors of the auras, thereby changing the mood of the form beneath it, as well as cause it pain or heal pain. She can "aura search" by making her own aura leave her body and prod the other auras around her, which can extend up to 100 feet, and can use her own aura to grab hold of other auras and physically move the form beneath it (well within reason of course - she cant go moving trees).
Karma can "kill" herself by turning her whole aura black - it makes her stop breathing and keeps her heart beating only enough to barely keep her alive - when she needs to wake back up her heart will speed up and her aura's colors will seep back in. This of course takes alot of energy and is only used as a last ditch effort to save herself.
Lastly, Karma gets "instant karma" - when she does something she knows to be wrong it will come back to her tenfold. When she was little it caused her to be quite shy and softspoken, and she has almost always been a rule-follower.
Personality: Karma takes after Canto - her "adoptive father". She is very introverted, prefering a good book to good company, although when she is in the right company she can become quite loud. She is a new mother, but hardly ever gets to see her daughter, which has left a bit of a sore spot in her heart. She is a well-known elbow-thrower if you get on her nerves.
History: Growing up, Karma had a twin sister named Aura, and the two of them took aura-reading and manipulation lessons from a very well known and powerful teacher, Chakra. Aura always exceeded her soft-spoken sister, but for some reason Chakra always had more of an interest in the one that showed her aura on the outside. He offered Karma a place next to him to become a powerful aura seerer but she declined, feeling replused by what she could see in his own aura. When he told her she had no choice in the matter she ran away.
Karma first ended up Haven's Valley where she met Koalypso. When she quickly became pregnant (oops!) she ran back to Chakra and told him she would bind herself to him (giving him all her power) if he would kill the child inside her before it could grow. Chakra was in the process of it when Koal found them and struck Chakra with a bolt of lightning. Chakra was knocked out and although he didn't finish killing the child, Karma's "instant karma" caught up with her that night and the child died anyways, Karma feeling all of its pain plus some.
The next night, Karma ran away again in shame, this time finding her way to Dream Valley where she met Bella and Canto. She met and started dating *shudders* Shadoh, but when he broke up with her for Raven she never talked to him again. She soon met Dark and started a serious relationship with him. Then Dark disappeared and Karma was left once again with Bella, Canto, and Comet.
Shortly after Bella gave birth to little Kailani, Karma was found by Chakra, who was being helped by Aura. The two caught Karma, who knew that she was in fact still partially bound to Chakra (he did afterall help kill the child as he promised). She had to fight Chakra to unbind herself, and had lost when the infant Kailani and Karma's old boyfriend Koal stepped in. (and because Dark had mysteriously disappeared, but I didnt know that until after I thought up this part of Karma's life Im not exactally sure *how* Kail and Koal stepped in and helped). Chakra was defeated and Karma was unbound.
Karma and Koal eventually married and had a baby girl of their own, who is showing signs of being an aura-reader. They are currently seperated so she can sort out her feelings after seeing the long-lost Dark and realizing she hadn't stopped loving him yet.

Character's Name: Comet Type: pegasus, sort of. Gender: male Age: 30(ish again) Physical Description: Comet is a horse from across the Rainbow who made it across one day and found he had wings. He is tall and chocolate brown with a white blaze on his forhead and lighter mane and tail. He has no symbol.
Powers: none.
Personality: Comet is goofy and silly and always in trouble. It is almost as if he is still a colt, but a large one. It took him years to get used to his wings, and it looks as if he never got used to his long legs. He likes to play practical jokes and is always smiling a large, goofy smile.
History: Comet had always told his fellow stable-mates that across the Rainbow there was another world of colorful horses and no humans, but they had all laughed at him. When he finally made it across, he discovered he had wings, and took to flight immediately, bumping into a rather pregnant Bella and taking her to the ground. He started living with Bella and Canto that first day and still hasn't moved out.
Comet quickly became Karma's best friend and did have a small crush on her, but that has faded over the years to simply a strong friendship. He hasn't had nearly as exciting a life as the rest of the family, but thinks just getting across the Rainbow is adventure enough. He will probably never settle down, nor move out of Bella and Canto's place, but they love him like a son none-the-less.
