Name: Cutlass (referred to as Doc by some)
Age: somewhere between 27 and 32
Type: Big Brother, Earth Pony (symbols on both sides)
Gender: male
Body Color: white
Hair Color: light gray-ish green with streaks of dark gray-ish green through out (his tail only comes to the knees, his mane varies in lengths, one strand will be short the next long and the one after medium, the longest strands only come to the nape of his neck)
Eye Color: dark gray-ish green
Symbol: a light gray cutlass (the blade is tilted a bit so it looks like the blade is headed straight for the stallion’s belly), in just the right light the cutlass is almost non-existent
Jewelry: none
Temperament: Cold, heartless. Knows no fear. Has no sympathy for the sick or injured. Gruff, bitter. Loyal to those he has to be and than only if it suits him. Foul tempered. Does not like when ponies whine and moan about how something hurts them so.
Powers: none (Unless being a doctor counts.)
History: Born to a renowned doctor, Cutlass was destined to follow in his father’s hoofsteps. Just as his father had his grandfather and his grandfather his great-grandfather. His father was instantly proud, believing that his son would be a fourth generation doctor. Pushed until he was bitter and hated the profession. Cutlass studied to become a doctor only to keep his father from barking at him and rambling on about tradition.
Cutlass proved to be an amazing surgeon. There was only one problem, he had a terrible bedside manner. Truth be told he had no bedside manner to speak of. He cared little for others aliments. His way of thinking was if it hurt, cut it off.
Seeking refuge from the ever sick elderly Cutlass set sail on a merchant ship soon after becoming a doctor. Before the ship docked it was attacked by pirates. A battle ensued and the merchants soon found they were no match for the merciless pirates. Rousing from his sleep from all of the commotion Cutlass appeared on deck. Wounds like nothing he had before seen were sitting in front of him. Disappearing before he was spotted he returned with his equipment and began to tend to the injured. When a merchant cried and moaned of the pain in his arm, Cutlass growled and thinking nothing of it picked up a discarded sword and sliced the offending limb off. Upon seeing this display the pirate Captain laughed. Finally a doctor after his own heart. Giving an order the pirates retreated taking with them the foul tempered doctor.
Setting fire to the merchant ship, the pirates waited only long enough to make certain that there would be no survivors, other than their new doctor. Cutlass was admitted to the crew with a ‘join us or be run through’ option. Taking the doctor under his wing Captain Goldfeathers set about teaching the 23 year old how to wield a sword properly. Over the next several months Cutlass learned all he could. Like a sponge he absorbed everything and remembered the lessons taught. There was something about being a pirate that was exhilarating and for the first time in his life Cutlass felt like he finally belonged somewhere.
The next couple of years whirled by and Cutlass was deemed the most heartless doctor to ever sail the seven seas. No crew he sailed with became ill. Injuries would often go untreated if at all possible. None cared for the doctor’s philosophy of ‘if it hurts, cut it off’. Many were the pirates that he had cut dying limbs off of and plucked worthless eyes from. Only if he was instructed to repair the damage would he actually do so. Even than he would do so with a sneer.
Birthplace: Vale of Mists (a settlement near a large river in the Snowy Mountains)
Other: Is a fair swimmer. Can hold his own, but certainly couldn’t compete against another and win. He actually does something like a dog paddle when he swims. Is never without either a scalpel or a sword in his hoof. More often than not he has a scalpel with him. He doesn’t like to go anywhere without it.
