Ack. What is wrong with boys? My brother-in-law, John, decided to go swimming in the Grand River and drowned. Some fishermen were able to drag him out and they started CPR. John was rushed to the hospital downtown. Now he's in intensive care, yes, still alive. We don't know the extent of the damage yet. His body is OK. His brain, no one knows. He was without oxygen for 5-20 minutes. No one really knows.
So, I've been at the hospital for a few days. Again. This time I got to sit in the waiting room, though. -sigh- The family is doing OK, but they're very concerned, of course. I'm just kind of drained, atm.

Sons of sons, he's going home! He's perfectly fine, amazing for someone who's heart had stopped and all that! I can't believe it. Lucky duck.

I swear your family is the luckiest group of unlucky people around.
Who goes swimming in the Grand River? Did he grow any extra toes?
I'm glad he's fine, and that it wasn't you in the hospital this time.
*big giant uberhugs*

A good question! What the heck was he thinking? He was by the fish ladder and went over the dam and got caught in the current. Hello, bad idea!!!
We ARE very lucky unlucky people. Did I mention my aunt was in the hospital for meningitis and almost died this year? She's doing much better. Actually, she got hit twice this year because earlier she got stung by a bee and found out she's allergic to bees pretty bad. And she's a master gardener, of course!
In other news, my daughter rolled over today!!! First time ever doing it all by herself, from back to belly.
