[[cont. from pone.proboards20.com/index.cgi?board=cafe&action=display&thread=1146908932 - Twilight and Moondancer]] “But here, I couldn’t tell that you were pregnant! My deepest congratulations to you – and to the father also, might I add. Though you are quite brave to choose to go on such a journey. Yano, the whole birthing-thing. How far along are you… if you don’t mind me asking?”Twilight felt this response quite curious, and hence regarded the other curiously as she replied. "Oh, just a week or so," she said with a smile. "But you understand, I can tell that there's growing something in there." She peered at her belly and caressed it a little, then she looked up at Moondancer again, smiling so that small dimples formed on her pale pastel cheeks. "Well, my situation is less than ordinary in so many ways, I suppose, but you are right in saying that it is brave of me. I do not know if the father will have much to do with the raising of this child." She looked at her conversation companion, realising that she may be now confusing her badly. "Here, I'm sorry I must sound confusing. But this is really quite an odd circumstance to begin with. I could tell you all about it, if you were interested, but I don't want to trouble you; we have only just met." Truth be told, she wasn't sure what she would tell if Moondancer wanted to know more; she rather not revealed her special power, and for some reason felt reluctant to tell her about Glasye, either. The Sunset Stallion had been like a wonderful dream, a fantasy, and to speak of it, she feared, may break the illusion.

"Oh, just a week or so," she said with a smile. "But you understand, I can tell that there's growing something in there." She peered at her belly and caressed it a little, then she looked up at Moondancer again, smiling so that small dimples formed on her pale pastel cheeks.
Only a week? and she already knows?... No. I don't understand! Moondancer looked at the other with wide eyes of surprise. She didn't think that ponies could tell if they were with child until they had morning sickness or something, or had a doctor to tell them. It felt a little strange to be conversing with a pregnant mare though; it was as though there was another in the conversation and although this other - that is the unborn foal - didn't have anything to say, the thought of them being there made their presence real.
But how can sure be so sure that she is with foal? the blonde thought to herself. Maybe it's a mother thing that I am yet to learn of. Deciding that that might as well be the case, she listened to the other continue on.
"Well, my situation is less than ordinary in so many ways, I suppose, but you are right in saying that it is brave of me. I do not know if the father will have much to do with the raising of this child."
"What do you mean?" The blue mare asked quickly in surprsie, leaning forward a little with wide eyes. The other had already continued to speak though:
"Here, I'm sorry I must sound confusing. But this is really quite an odd circumstance to begin with. I could tell you all about it, if you were interested, but I don't want to trouble you; we have only just met."
Moondancer smiled as pleasantly as she could. "But I am interested to hear about it, Twilight," she said to the other gently and with smiling eyes. It's not like I have anything else to do anyway... and this might turn out juicy... she continued in her thoughts. "Now tell me, why do you think the father will not help out? Surely you are married to him... right?"
((occ: I know that the phrase, "smiling eyes" sounds weird, but it fits... to me... XD))

Twilight was quite pleased when the younger mare showed such interest in her situation. She hadn't really realised how much she had been dying to speak about it to someone, especially to another mare. She really should write the other Moondancer, she thought in her mind. She felt horrible when she realised that she hadn't even thought of it before meeting this young mare. Such a terrible friend she was turning out to be.
Discarding these thoughts as she was asked about the father of the foal, she smiled a little, blushing.
"Well, no," she said. Only when she said it she realised that her situation, though it had seemed quite clear to her a moment ago, was actually very strange. How was she to talk about the Sunset Stallion that just appeared to her and then vanished as magically as he had arrived? It sounded like a fairy tale, and she pulled back a little, looking rather hesitant.
She gave a little nervous laugh.
"Oh, now that I think back on it, I suppose it all sounds very odd... very odd indeed." She frowned again, again the thought came to her - it had been like a dream. Why was she so convinced that everything was all right in the first place? She did know she was pregnant, it was the magic inside her that gave her this assurance, and she had studied the stars to make even more certain, but who had this stallion really been?
She realised that she should continue explaining.
"Well, you see, I have wanted a baby for a long time," she said. "I am getting a little old for it, though, and I was rather giving up hope. But just a week ago or so, I met a stallion..." She blushed. "He was wonderful, and I do admit I wouldn't mind having him for a husband. Still, that wasn't part of the agreement. He gave me a baby, and, well, you understand, I have magic." She placed a hoof on her belly. "I can tell he's there, growing."
She knew she wasn't being very clear in her explanation, but for some reason she didn't understand she was having trouble making exactly clear to himself what really had happened there. For the first time she was beginning to doubt her judgement in trusting him the way she had.
[[Note: Glasye messed up Twilight's head a little when they met with his *cough* charm and she's only now starting to get over it and realise that she just _might_ have been tricked.]]

((ahh, I can't remember what has happened on this topic *sigh* I shall try my best though. =3 ))
The light blue mare raised her eye-ridges in surprise upon hearing that the father was not the pink unicorn's spouse. Moondancer was, in her own way, rather traditional about the matters of the familiy, so she found the thought of Twilight having to raise a foal of her own not to her taste. However, her feelings towards Twilight were not that of disgust but rather of pity.
Oh my, Moondancer thought to herself dramatically. It seems to me that my newest companion may have been lured into a roll in the grass only to be cast aside soon after!
She noticed Twilight's reluctancy, but she was determined to have the mare spill the beans. She leaned forward in interest, quietly egging her on to tell more.
She hadn't expected this. Eyes wide, she looked at Twilight for a moment before managing a weak: "I see..."
For a short moment the mare was silent, surprised that someone would just want a baby like that. It sounded very odd to her.
"Well... I suppose if that is what you wanted, then there is no problem," the mare finally said as though coming to a conclusion. She looked at Twilight with concerned and curious eyes though. "But what of the foal? To have no father, how do you think it will suit him?"
((ugh, sorry if the post is all weird. Haven't played this gal in a while XD obviously. ))

"Well... I suppose if that is what you wanted, then there is no problem," the mare finally said as though coming to a conclusion. She looked at Twilight with concerned and curious eyes though. "But what of the foal? To have no father, how do you think it will suit him?"
Twilight's expression grew a bit sadder. She had hoped, of course, to have a father for her child, eventually when she would have one. She had never expected it to work out like this, either. She did still keep alive the hope that Glasye might come back to her. He had said he was unattached. Perhaps... he would yet come.
Should she look for him?
"Well, I do hope I may find a stallion one day who would take both me and the foal," she said quietly. "We will see, I suppose, how it will all turn out. And as for the foal... well, I can only say, my dear, that I believe it is better for a foal not to have a father at all than to have a bad one." She looked at Moondancer carefully. "I expect you think I'm terribly selfish, to want a foal while I have no husband," she then said, a little defensively. She herself was not old-fashioned in that sense and did not believe that a good family always required both a father and a mother - but she suspected her new acquaintance might have been.
She wondered a little how she had come to divulge all these personal affairs of hers to a young mare she hardly knew. It was probably because of her name. She really missed talking to her old friend Moondancer.

"I expect you think I'm terribly selfish, to want a foal while I have no husband,"
Moondancer, upon realising that she just may have made her new companion uncomfortable, bit her lip lightly and frowned. She should be careful as to not insult her.
"Here, I meant no offense," She said quickly. "It's just... I wonder what the foal will say... yano, not having a father and such like other little ponies. But you're right. A loving parent is better than an abusive one, even if it is only one parent."
The mare sighed a little to herself, before smiling at the light pink unicorn brightly. "And maybe the father will help if you go ask him. There is hope. Do you know where he lives?"
