(Continued from pone.proboards20.com/index.cgi?board=nursery&action=display&thread=1148839800&page=2) Bella was relieved to find most of the food passed out by the time she came back in, and it seemed the mood of the place had lifted a little, though by what means she wasn't sure. She herself was scared for the children, and all the more scared now that the first of them had died. How long before the others went too? How long before Karma couldn't keep herself from catching it? How long would she herself last? The only one who didn't seem to be affected by the plague was Sherbet, and there was no explination for why. As the filly came shuffling back into the room, Bella crouched down and smiled at her. "Kail is going to be so proud of you, helping like this." The words immediately put a smile on the filly's face, and "Grandma" felt all the better for that. "Sit down Sherbet, I'll get you some soup." The filly climbed into the chair - not so far a climb as it used to be - and nodded her head, while trying to keep her eyes open and her head off the table. The soup revived her slightly, and the jello even more so, but Bella could see the strain in her eyes, the stress, the worry, and probably the heartache at Kail being gone for so long. "Don't worry," Bella said and stroked her rainbow hair, "Kail will be back soon. They'll get the locket, and come back home, and all will be better." She smiled to herself as she realized how true she thought that would be.

After all the food had been dealt out and all the babies fed - Rogue himself helped a few of those who were worst sick to eat - the purple-maned unicorn stood in the middle of the room again. He concentrated his magic and his horn, once again, began to glow a faint purple shimmer. The unicorn mercenary had had a lot of practice with these kind of little chores, but still it strained him to use his magic so abundantly. But Rogue was not one to bother with the task of collecting all the little cups and bowls if he could avoid it.
And so soon enough, all the bowls and cups in the room slowly floated up and arranged themselves in a neat line which then began its floating march toward the kitchen. Angel, giggling a little, galloped to the door and held it open as Rogue moved everything back, an endless-seeming line of kitchen equipment making its way to the kitchen.
Rogue came in last and trotted to the kitchen, a faint smile on his lips. Everything still floated in the air in a little circle above the ponies' heads.
"Where shall I put these?" he asked - he couldn't help but boast just a little with his skills. He did wonder a little at the fact that his head was feeling strangely light after such a simple little task.

[Cont. from Solsbury. Hope you don't mind me butting in. ] The rainbow path made a clapping sound as Whisper's shaggy hooves hit it. She was sweating at the base of her flying mane and slowed down a bit. She could now spot the nursery, and many memories came to her mind. Fragments of memories from her first night in Ponyville. Soaking wet, a little unicorn entered the Café, seeking shelter. After days of treveling, it was quite shocking to see so many ponies at once. There was a lot of baby ponies in the building, and Whispering Wind wondered if they came from a daycare or something. But it was so late...
She sat down with Triple Treat and a flutter foal, and had something to eat...
"I might sound silly, but... are you a princess?" She swiftly realised how stupid she might had sounded...By now, Whisper was almost blushing. "So ... so there was a rainbow of darkness?" "Will it come back?"
A big chip brake loose from the glass Whispering Wind was holding, and fell with a quiet clatter on the table. Some blood came out from a wound on her hoof. She clenhed her teeth in pain and felt clumsy. Kail reached over the table and lightly grabbed her hoof. A soft hum came from her mouth and when she let go the cut was gone.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I think. Thank you."
Whispering Wind left the café with the nursery ponies. She was painfully tired.
She was there. At the doorsteps infront of the nursery door. She knocked gently four times, the blood racing through her veins.

Poppy jerked her head up from its resting place on the foal's body, and purple spots danced in front of her eyes. She had apparently dozed off while watching over the 'sleeping' baby pony, and looked around for what had disturbed her.
There was a Big Pony at the door, knocking loudly enough(to the breezie's small ears) to give her a headache. Casting a glance at the filly to ensure that she was still resting peacefully, Poppy took to the air and headed for Whisp. "Don't wake the baby up!," she warned.

[ Hey WingSong, I'm just making sure before I post - when Poppy said "Don't wake the baby up!", was it directed towards Whisp? 'Cause you did not mention opening the door (which would be quite hard for a breezie), nor state if she yelled through it.]

Rogue heard the knock from the door and turned his head a little. As he had his hooves - or, more correctly, his horn - full at the moment, he didn't make a move to go and open it, however.
[[err, short - but I wanted to acknowledge Whisp's arrival *shrug*]]

((Ohh, right. I guess I didn't mention in this post, but Poppy is actually outside too. When Baby Sea Spray died her body was discreetly taken out to the garden. Poppy thinks a sleeping baby was left outside by mistake, and is now guarding her until an adult comes to take her inside... Because, in fact, she can't open a door herself. ))

[Oh. Maybe you did mention that she was outside. I just did not read this thread from the beginning. Oh my, Whisp will discover the dead body if nobody goes for the door! Anything else I should now?] No answer came from inside, and Whispering Wind felt a bit impatient. Somebody had to get the door soon - there were always people in the nursery, she knew that. "Don't wake the baby up!"The unicorn flicked her ear and turned to look from where the tiny voice came form. Soaring in mid-air was a white little winged pony, reminding her very much about the faeries back in Xanadia. The silly little being must be crazy, she thought. Which baby pony? Had they gone to sleep inside, and the breezie thought she knocked high enough to wake all of them up? Maybe she's got a nest nearby with a tiny faery-baby?

Hearing the knock, Bella left Sherbet to her food as she went to answer it. It was a young pony, though not nearly as young as those in the nursery, and seemed comfortable enough with the nursery that she must have been there before. In Bella's limited history most ponies who came to the nursery for the first time were rather impatient and nervous, if only due to the circumstances surrounding their arrival.
"Can I help you?" She asked with a warm smile, stepping aside so the other could enter. She hoped this one wasn't sick as well, but at least she didn't look it. Then she hoped this one wouldn't get sick from coming in the nursery, although surely the walk through town would have exposed her to whatever plague was making its rounds.

When the door swung open, Poppy gave up on Whis. Her mind was already whirring, and without a word she darted dangerously close to Bella's ear, and passed her to go into the nursery again.
"Rogue, Rogue!", she squealed out as loudly as her tiny vocal cords would allow. A few foals giggled as she flew between them, swooping down to the floor and pulling back up to the ceiling in a matter of seconds. She didn't see Rogue among them, but wasn't willing to stop and take a look around the whole room at once. The breezie couldn't exactly call up a mental image of the stallion's colors, but was confident that she would know him if she saw him.
After all, she reasoned, it's always worked before.

As the sick were systematically fed, Rogue's show went on and Chemica had to smile while she finished up feeding a few of the weaker patients. Above her, the dishes danced back to the kitchen even as she, herself, made her way there with empty bowels and cups. Angel giggled and held the door open for Rogue's dancing dishes. Chemica found herself stifling her own filly-like giggles.
Knock, knock, knock.
Their "party" was disturbed by someone rapping on the door. Rogue seemed to have heard it but, for some reason, he didn't do anything about it. Chemica put the dishes, she had, in the sink and came out of the kitchen wondering if anyone was going to answer the door. "If no one does than I'll have to..." she whispered to no one. To her relief, Bella answered the door and it was a tired traveler, or it was from what Chemica could see. Was she sick too?

Rogue continued in putting away all the dishes, floating them one by one in neat piles until they were all free of his magic. Then he started to make his way to the door - to be interrupted in his intentions by the shrill voice of the breezie. He didn't want her to see him. He drew his ears back and peeked out of the kitchen door only a little, so that Poppy wouldn't accidentally see him. He wanted nothing more than to correct the little creature's horrible misunderstanding.
He thought quickly, then a smirk rose to his lips. Perhaps she had again forgotten what he looked like. He concentrated on his magic once again and focused it on the breezie. Catching the breezie only lightly enough so she wouldn't be harmed, he more or less tossed her toward the bed where Tramp lay immobile. He made sure she practically fell over him before he released his magic.
Then he pulled back, hoping the breezie would see Tramp and recognise him - finally.
With his other ear he was trying to listen to what was going on at the door.

Poppy gazed down at the stallion she had landed on, and brightened up instantly. "Oh, Rogue!" She stomped a little hoof impatiently on his shoulder.
"Come on, get up! There's a little baby that got locked outside, and without me out there she'll be all in the dark!" She galloped up into her favorite spot - his mane - and tugged on his ear. "Hurry, get up!", she said again.

Tramp moved a little on the bed. Perhaps it was the peeping, incessant voice of the little creature, perhaps simply the fact that he had been out of it for quite some time, but he was slowly coming to. His eyes fluttered open and he looked up, rather dazed expression on his face. As soon as he caught sight of the breezie, a weary smile appeared on his face.
"Oh... Popcorn," he said weakly. "I'm so happy to see you."
And he was - for he had honestly liked the little breezie, and had been sad to leave her behind.
Meanwhile, the real Rogue was quite pleased with what he had accomplished and turned more attention now to the door.
[[can he go to the door without going through the sick-room?]]

(Yep, the kitchen is to the left, the living room where all the kids sleep to the front and right, the hallway in between that room and the stairs, which are front left. I should make a sketch of it...)

Rogue moved from the kitchen to the door, curious of who it was that had arrived. Perhaps another sick pony?
[[short but I just wanted to move him to the door.]]

When the door opened, Whisper felt a bit confused. Her attention left the tiny pony, and her gaze fell upon the pony who stood in the doorway.
"Can I help you?"
"Well, um..." she replied, "I'm looking for Kail." She thought for a moment. "...Kailani Hoofspen. Do you know her?"
[Yeah, really lame post, but eh. Bad imagination at the moment.]

Bella laughed softly at the question. "I do. She's my daughter. Come in, won't you?" She moved to the side to let the other in, silently wishing Karma was there to scan her quickly to see if she was showing any signs of illness. As she shut the door behind the purple one, she gave a tired, but genuine smile. "I'm Bella, Kail's mother. You're a friend of hers?"
(haha, mine's short too, but I'm suffering the same malady)

The unicorn nodded thankfully and stepped inside. So, this is Kailani's mother? "Come in, won't you?" Is Kailani alright? Unaware, she was now breathing the air that could carry the fatal virus. Luckily enough, she was not breathing in the PAARS. Yet. Whisper was as calm as always, but she was indeed wondering if everything was okay. Her pupils widened slightly. If it was because of the light or what was going on inside her head was impossible to tell.
"I'm Bella, Kail's mother. You're a friend of hers?"
Whisper bowed in a greeting as a response to Bella's smile. The second after, she remembered that she was not supposed to act like she did at home. The unicorn was reminded that the ponies of the outer world waved their hooves at each other. "Well, you could say so," she said respectfully. "She took me in when I last visited Ponyville." ...When I was young and foolish. Whisp had not really known if she dared to smile, but the mare seemed bright and friendly. The purple youngster's lips curved in a slight smile, and she could not decide whether or not she should ask about Kail right away.
