Rogue caught sight of Whisper's bow and this raised his curiosity. He was quite familiar with that type of greeting, himself, having roamed the more ancient parts of Ponyland his entire life. He felt immediate kinship for that reason; Ponyville had never really suited him for the simple fact that it had abandoned too many of the old ways which Rogue appreciated.
He made his way closer to the door so that he could be seen as well.
"Kail?" he asked curiously. "Kailani Hoofspen? I seem to have heard that name before..." He furrowed his brow a little and though he couldn't quite place the name, he felt he should have. He was a little surprised to know that this kindly mare was Kail's mother - mainly because he usually didn't up and meet the parents of famous people, and Kail must have been somehow famous for him to have heard of her.
He had the feeling he had heard the name during a trip to Course, but he couldn't be certain.

Whisper's gaze fell upon Rouge as he approached, but she quickly turned her attention back to Bella. She felt a bit shy. Whisp was not usually shy, but the situation made her feel like a total stranger. She did not know any of the ponies in the building. Where could Kail and Razz be?
"Kail? Kailani Hoofspen? I seem to have heard that name before..."
Whisper watched the white unicorn as he spoke, sharing his curiosity. She supposed that Kail was fine, since Bella smiled.
The purple unicorn noticed that the stallion seemed kind. He must be years older than me. An uncomfortable feeling came over her. I really hope that they can't read my mind. Whisp thought of this often when she was daydreaming - it was really weird, but she dislike the feeling of people peering into her mind.
She did not respond, waiting for Bella to answer. She should know about Kailani.

Chemica watched Rogue kinda toss the breezie onto Tramp. She did wonder why the little creature kept following the brothers. And why Rogue seemed to want to throw her to Tramp. She stared at the breezie for a moment. There was a movement beneath her. Tramp was finally waking up. Chemica felt her insides leap but she did not show it. Instead, she remained quiet with a smile on her face. She was quite glad that he was alive… “But for how long…” Her face fell and she took another look at both brothers, trying to ignore the breezie. Tramp was showing that purple color. How long did he have? With a sigh her eyes surveyed the room ultimately leading her thoughts back to whatever they took out the back door. Whatever it was, she had to find out.
"Well, um..." The visitor replied, "I'm looking for Kail." She thought for a moment. "...Kailani Hoofspen. Do you know her?"
Chemica’s ears automatically perked in the visitor’s direction again. Who was this new pony that had come to Bella's door? She decided to listen for a moment, trying to put her ramped thoughts to rest. If this pony was sick too, there were no more beds to put her in. She shook that thought out of her mind. “ She doesn’t look or act sick… Maybe she is just looking for someone she lost…” The white mare watched the others interact with the new purple unicorn. They all seemed to know much more than Chemica about whoever this pony was looking for, so the green-eyed pony was happy just to watch and listen.

Another pony came through the nursery door, one who obviously had no problem walking right in. She was examining something as she did, not quite aware of everyone standing there.
"I've got that thing for Sky Feathers. It took me forever to find..." She stopped before she bumped into someone and brought her head up full. "Oh! Sorry!"
It was Fluttershy. When Sky Feathers had gotten ill, Fluttershy had been visiting her frequently through the week. She'd been out the last few days running errands and stopping off at home to water her plants, which she'd nearly forgotten about. They were all wilty and dried and it was such a pitiful sad sight. So was coming to the nursery. She almost didn't want to be here, but she'd promised Razz.
She looked around at the gathered ponies, eyes stopping on Rogue.
"I..." she started, but didn't finish.

"You might have heard it," Bella said with a small smile, "she's rather well known in this area, as well as in Course. When she's not heading the Nursery she takes a liking to saving the world." But the mare winked, showing that she was only joking.
She'd been keeping an eye on the purple filly as she spoke, barely sighting her out of the corner of her eye. She was a bit odd in her mannerisms, but Bella was quite used to odd. Her son was from across the Rainbow for goodness sake, that was about as odd as it got.
And then Fluttershy made her way in, nearly running over the unicorn and starring agog at the stallion. Bella smiled knowingly and motioned for Whisper Wind to come into the kitchen so they could talk. She found Sherbet asleep at the table, head on her forleg and cold soup untouched. Bella lifted her up, realizing she wasn't yet too old to pick up a foal and smiling a bit at that thought, and sat down in her place, letting the filly curl up on her lap as she motioned for Whis to sit across from her.
"Are you hungry, dear?"

"When she's not heading the Nursery she takes a liking to saving the world."
Whis said nothing, remaining silent. She had alwys had the feeling - ever since Razz told her about the war against the Rainbow of Darkness - that Kailani was more than a regular little pony. That she had done something great. The thought scared Whisper in a strange way - bit still, it as kind of funny. And how serious she was to take Bellas words, she did not know. Eventually the unicorn entered the familiar kitchen and sat down with Kail's mother. She loved the nursery kitchen.
"Are you hungry, dear?"
"Yes, indeed," the purple uni replied, respectfully nodding. Now that Bella mentioned it, she could feel her stomach groaning. She longed for the tea that she used to drink in her homelands, but she knew there were no point in mentioning it. She knew Ponyvilles tea tasted different from the Xanadian. Her questions about Kail and the situation in the nursery could wait. For the time being.

Bella nodded and got up, putting Sherbet on a chair next to her so she wouldn't disturb the filly anymore. Sherbet raised her head for a brief moment, looked bleary-eyed from one side of the room to the other, and then landed on Whis. "Hi, Whisperwind," she said sleepily, obviously not registering the fact that the mare had been gone for quite some time in her sleepy state. She put her orange head back down and fell straight back to sleep.
Bella's back was turned, reheating the nights soup so the unicorn could have a bowl, and she couldn't help but smile. It was good to know that this new mare really did know the nursery and the kids, and Sherbet certainly didn't seem put out by her presence. Then again, she didn't think the little orange filly would be terribly put out by anyone's presence.
With a bowl of now hot soup in one hoof, and two cups of tea held by the handles in the other, Bella crossed the short distance to the table and set it all down. For herself she pulled over Sherbet's untouched, cold soup. "So, Whisperwind. I take it you were once a regular here as well?"

Whisper smiled kindly when spoken to. A warm jolt of happiness hit her. "Hello," she replied to the filly that reminded her so much about her little sister, and watched her as she fell asleep.
The smell of soup reached the unicorn, and she felt her stomach growl again. She loved soup. "Whoa, thanks a lot..." She said quietly.
"So, Whisperwind. I take it you were once a regular here as well?"
The youngster shallowed a spoonful of pleasantly hot soup, nodding slowly. "Yeah, that's right. I lived here for a while about a year ago. I wanted to explore the world..." Oops. When Whisp realized that she was about to mention her homelands, she shallowed her soup too fast. She coughed fiercly a couple of times, holding her hoof over her mouth. "...Excuse me," she said in a low voice.

Chemica had noticed the second new pony almost right away. She had bumped into Fluttershy, apologized and then her eyes fell on Rogue, causing her to fall into silence. The white mare glanced at Rogue wondering how many hearts he was stringing along and how many mares were as smitten as Angel. But that really wasn't important right now so she pushed the thoughts out of her head, returning her attention to the here and now.
As she stood there silently, still only watching, Chemica couldn't help but wonder who this Kail was. She sounded very much like a selfless pony who tries to save the world when she can. Her ears perked and Bella winked to the stranger following her "saving the world" sentance. Still, this Kail sounded like she was genuine and cared much for pony folk. Chemica continued to listen without a word. The more she heard about Kail the more she liked this pony and very much wished to meet her.

With a pat on the back to help with the other's coughing, Bella laughed softly. "I've explored much of the world in my own time. I do hope you found it a pleasant experiance." For the peg it had been rather unintended, but a good experiance nonetheless. Still, there were memories from that time that she'd rather forget, and her eyes clouded over for a moment seeing into the past.
Blinking and turning her mouth back into a smile, Bella came back into the present and took a spoonful of cold soup, washing it down quickly with hot tea. Cold soup just was not a tasty thing, ever.
"Where did you travel? If I might ask."

Whis smiled and had some more soup. She thought carefully before answering the pegasus' question: "First, I came here", she said, skipping the part about Xanadia, the portal to Fatum Isles and the voyage. "Then I discovered a hidden path that led to a tropical island called Butterfly Island. I eventually got back here, and realized that it was time to head home." She fell silent for a moment. "And well, now I'm back again," she added, trying to avoid mentioning Xanadia. She took another spoonful of soup.

[[so sorry I haven't been back sooner - but it feels a little funny playing backward in the thread. Soo, Fluttershy and Rogue are still in the hallway.]]
Rogue jumped backward just a little when Fluttershy bumped in on him, nearly winking out. He did manage to stifle the reflex though, and stood, looking at Fluttershy with surprise. He didn't recognise her - Tramp had never introduced her, in fact. She did seem to look at him though in a way that told him she might have thought he looked familiar. A sudden panic went through his mind - should he have known this mare?
Going through the (quite impressive) list of mares he remembered having dealings with, Rogue finally decided that he'd never seen the mare before. This caused him to smile in a friendly way.
"Hello," he said to her kindly. "Can I help you?"
Mainly, because he wasn't sure why she was looking at him like that.

Chemica listened intently, wondering what kind of adventures this mare had had. She wanted to know all about the places she'd been and where she was going. But, of course, she wasn't going to go meddling and ask. She just met this pony and since she appeared to be healthy, the white mare was just happy to watch and listen. Although, the thought of this pony possibly contracting the disease, did roll back from the back of her mind. Rogue's voice broke the thought, suddenly, as he nearly disappeared when the mare next to him bumped into him. Chemica snapped her head up in his direction with a frown on her face. Her ears were erect but she was slightly annoyed. Then she realized that Rogue was not getting brownie points with this mare, like he did with Angel. Something told her that he was supposed to know that paticular mare, and he hadn't a clue who she was. The frown gone from the white mare's face, Chemica couldn't help but watch the possible drama. "Serves him right for stringing too many along..." she thought but soon chided herself for such thinking, feeling embarrased and hoping he didn't catch her thought. He was a unicorn, afterall. She looked back to the other ponies, tuning back intothe conversation.

Bella nodded thoughtfully to Whisper Wind, noting that the other appearantly didn't want to talk about her adventures. Something must have happened to make her clam up in such a way, and the older mare wasn't going to push it.
"Well, Ponyville must be some great place for you to keep coming back. I myself live in Dream Valley; I'm just helping out at the nursery while Kail is away on buisness." She didn't feel like explaining the whole buisness - undoubtably everyone had heard of the theft of the Rainbow's locket by now anyways. She did wish she knew where her daughter was and if everything was alright, but Bella also knew that if something bad happened, she would know. It was one of her later-developing powers in life; if something happened to a loved one, she could see it like a vision. The downside was that it was never a vision of the future, so she couldn't do anything to help. She liked talking to dolphins much better.
With a last spoonful of cold soup, Bella washed it down with hot tea and then stood up, taking the plates to the sink. "More tea or soup dear?"

"More tea or soup dear?"
Whisp's soup bowl was empty, and her stomach full. "No thanks. Excellent soup though." She nodded at the winged mare. The unicorn glanced at the doorway, trying to catch a glimpse of the white male or any of the other ponies. "My, you ... look pale," she added, meaning the ponies in the nursery in general. "Are you okay?"
[I'm not sure that PAARS make you pale, but I hope it's okay for her to say something of the sort. Just noticing the unhealty atmosphere.]

"For myself I'm simply tired. I travelled from Dream Valley yesterday and have been working hard all day today. But a good portion of the town seems to have come down with something." That reminded Bella of the dead foal in the backyard and she realized she had to do something with it soon. She supposed there was no family to contact about it, seeing as how this was an orphanage, but she would have liked to get ahold of Kail and find out for sure. Maybe she could very discretly ask Sherbet if she knew anything about the foal.
"It's been a bit of a rough day," Bella finally said with a tired smile. If this pony had been at the nursery before and knew the ropes a bit perhaps she wouldn't mind helping out tommorrow. Assuming she wasn't sick herself. "You haven't been feeling sick at all have you? Allergies or a small cold?"

"It's been a bit of a rough day."
Whispering Wind said nothing. She merely nodded. Indeed, it had been a long day for her too. She was exhausted after her journey to Ponyville, but curiosity and hunger had kept her awake. She felt like she had thousand of questions to ask, but she no longer knew which they were or what to say. She felt that she had lost them once she realized that Kail was not here - something that in turn made her confused. "You haven't been feeling sick at all have you? Allergies or a small cold?"
"Nah," said the unicorn. The Xanadian spring had arrived and the dark orchid colored trees where about to burst into blossom again. The sun warmed gently and she could actually not remember anyone who had been looking unhealthy. She came to the conclusion that something was going on in the little town . . . or perhaps she just was not paying attention - perhaps the Xanadians were not as healthy as she thought? "I feel awesome," she replied neutrally, unaware that she could actually be breathing in PAARS this very moment. Then she hid her face for a moment as a silent yawn escaped her mouth.

Bella smiled neutrally. "Glad to hear that. I'm a bit of a healer myself, but nothing like my daughter. She's got that natural ability that just shines during cold and flu season."
It was like walking on eggshells, talking to this stranger about Kail while wondering if she might get a vision at any moment of her daughter's mission failing miserably.
"Oh, you poor dear, you must be tired of course. Let's see if we can't find you a bed for the night." The yawn hadn't gone unnoticed by Bella, and although she really didn't know her way around the nursery she knew that the young mare would probably be more comfortable (and less likely to become sick) upstairs away from all the young foals. "If nothing else we can throw some blankets on the floor of one of the bedrooms and lay you down there."

"Glad to hear that. I'm a bit of a healer myself, but nothing like my daughter. She's got that natural ability that just shines during cold and flu season."
This stirred a memory - Whisper remembered clearly how Kail once had grabbed her forehoof and made it heal. The memory caused her to slightly shiver unwillingly. How strange. Though she was raised where magic was an everyday thing, she had never experienced anything like that. Healing took time. All druids knew that.
Whispering Wind still felt a little uncomfortable, but now she was starting to relax. Bella had offered her a place to sleep. "Yes, I'm really exhausted." She streched a bit. "Just anywhere will do, thank you."

"Alright, let's just get this little filly up," Bella heaved Sherbet onto her back before realizing that a)Sherbet was not so small as she used to be anylonger, and b)Bella was not so strong as *she* used to be anylonger. When the filly woke up and slid off to make her own way upstairs, the peg was rather relieved.
They followed the orange filly up the stairs and Bella searched around for a linen closet, got out a good amount of bedding, and with a rather shy grasp at the doorhandle of Razzarroo's room (she didn't know what she expected to find upon opening the door, but was glad to see nothing more than a bed and a few odd knicknacks on the dresser) let them both into the room where she made up two comfortable-enough beds on the floor. She couldn't quite bring herself to sleep in her daughter's boyfriend's bed.
"You can have the bed if you like, and we can change the bedding, or we can both sleep on the floor." Somehow, sleeping on the floor with a stranger was *still* less awkward than sleeping in Razz's bed. He had seemed like a perfectly innocent stallion, but Bella wasn't one to go prying into her daughters personal life either, and would rather not find any surprises. The floor was much safer in that respect.
